Engineering

Gordon Bow Engineering was formed in 1981, subsequently becoming a limited company in 1992.

The company is headed by a Managing Director – Mr G. Bow and Mrs M. Bow – Director, supported by an engineering manager.

The company is involved in structural engineering and blacksmith work in the construction industry, working mainly for the private sector in the housing and commercial developments. Attached is a cross section of typical contracts, which we have completed.

On average, 25 people are working for the company, on about 20 – 25 sites throughout the central part of Scotland.  All employees are directly employed within the company.

We have recently expanded our premises in order to increase our capacity and customer base. The company will shortly be looking at restructuring its senior management to allow further improvements and developments.

We have established a quality management system based on 1S0 9001, but have not proceeded to accreditation level.

Our company has been accepted by Construtionline to be on their register of qualified contactors – Registration No. 44355

The company is headed by M.D. - Gordon Bow, Director - M. Bow, Company Secretary - A. Gowans, supported by an Engineering Manager, Assistant Manager and Quantity Surveyor, as set out in our Employee flow chart.

  • Extensions and alterations to existing steel structures.
  • Secondary support steelwork to new and existing buildings.
  • Steel stairs, fire escape stairs, access ladders, access platforms with associated handrails and balustrades.
  • Mild steel railings, handrails and balustrades.
  • Stainless steel handrails
  • Gates for industrial or domestic purposes.
  • The supply only of steel sections cut and painted to customers specifications
  • On-site welding service
